A health and safety officer (also referred to as a HSO) monitors how an organisation complies with hygiene and safety law, and provides advice to both companies and employers on safe working environments. A HSO will normally work for the Health and Safety Executive the local government, (HSE), or a similar body, specially trained to monitor the implementation of health and safety regulations. Health and Safety officers also exist within private organisations, usually larger ones, and under the public sector, such as hospitals and schools etc.
My name is Wanda, and I am a woman’s rights activist. Like every activist I have my issues that I feel are especially important to me in terms of woman becoming equal within our society. The first of these is equality in the workplace. This is especially apparent across many different places in Canada. We see woman working and doing the same exact as men, but making 20% less than men in the workplace. Same workplace. Same representative. Everything the same, and woman covered by the same rights.
I feel that this the problem with society. We like to say we have equality, but we don’t. The gender differences are more hidden today, which is always something that is bad. I feel that we need to make a bigger deal about this in society. Through this blog I will continue to make people aware of different problem now, and throughout history, and show you where the differences lie, where they continue to lie, and what we can do to improve them.
